Agnitum's Outpost Firewall Pro provides proactive all-in-one protection against hackers, spyware, Trojan horses, keyloggers, ID theft, and unauthorized connections. The integrated anti-spyware module provides real-time protection for all the running applications, system memory and registry entries. Alongside the real-time spyware monitoring, Outpost features an ID theft prevention capability that lets users specify private data that is never permitted to leave the computer via browsers, IM software, email client or any other data transport mechanism. Outpost also detects and blocks all types of hacker attacks, monitors network activity and applications, blanks out banners and pop-ups, and quarantines suspicious email attachments. Outpost's Network Activity Monitor watches every connection between your computer and the Internet, alerting you immediately to any connection that may be unauthorized so you can take appropriate action. Outpost's Attack Detection automatically blocks network probes, zombie attacks and other remote attempts to access your PC with an intrusion definitions database that's continually updated. The new Anti-Leak capability prevents information leakage or theft through inappropriate data exchange techniques. Outpost Firewall Pro controls how programs interact on a PC, blocking unauthorized attempts by one application to send data off the machine by using another application's permissions to access the network. And playing games or watching videos while connected is interruption-free with the new Entertainment Mode, which automates firewall decision-making in the background. Self-protection is built into v4.0 – Outpost protection cannot be disabled by malware targeting security software. The ImproveNet 4.0 automated ruleset distribution service makes it easy to maintain effective firewall settings, and the signature update service keeps anti-spyware protection current.
